Graphicacy, a data visualization, design and interactive studio, is recruiting an experienced data visualization engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate for this role will be passionate about innovative front-end solutions. They will be capable of designing cutting-edge digital experiences for Graphicacy’s clients to continue to set Graphicacy apart as a leader in innovative and well designed digital products.

This position is for an engineer who has the ability to be as effective writing code as s/he is talking to clients and collaborating with designers, project managers, and other engineers. Graphicacy creates unique products that solve data and interactive challenges in new and engaging ways, so we're looking for someone who can see the whole board, communicate effectively, and think creatively about how to build great products .
About the role:
- Work with Graphicacy’s clients to design beautiful and informative interactive and static data visualizations, online applications and information graphics.
- Translate user requirements into interactively designed interfaces for applications/products.
- Craft solutions: Play a key role in helping to turn client ideas into executable solutions considering their needs, design opportunities and limitations, and technical options.
- Be a technology guide: Help clients understand what's possible and what's best given their content, data, and audiences.
- Help make Graphicacy better: Provide ongoing input on Graphicacy's technology toolkit and approaches, helping us to build better things and to build things better.
- Support existing software with quick troubleshooting and issue resolution.
About you:
- You have 4+ years of experience as a software or data visualization engineer.
- Passion for, and experience and interest in data visualization, information graphics and familiarity with a range of full-stack technologies.
- Advanced knowledge of Angular and/or React -and D3.js.
- Ability to lead scoping and development conversations for technical and non-technical participants alike.
- Fluency in approaches to a wide variety of interactive products, and the ability to rapidly learn and adapt to new ones.
- Able to take a bespoke wireframe and turn it into an interactive and animated web or mobile app with an advanced knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Fluent in both Javascript or Typescript. Bonus points if you’ve also worked with Python, Mapbox, NodeJS, and AWS/Google Cloud/Azure.
- Experience participating and/or leading discovery processes to develop a deep understanding of client needs and goals and match those with technical solutions.
- Skill at planning and implementing custom technical solutions from scratch.
- Strive to develop accessible code with comprehensive tests and thorough documentation.
- Strive to write elegant, adaptable code.
- You have a passion for learning and self-improvement.

Graphicacy is looking for an experienced Project Manager to manage organization of key client projects and accomplishes project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities.
About the role:
- Help define and facilitate our team’s development process, whether it’s Scrum, Kanban, something in-between, or something else.
- Optimize for collaboration and communication, helping our team remain passionate about our work from project to project.
- Help the team resolve issues as they come up, and raise them with product and engineering management to clear blockers.
- Be the source of truth for the state the team’s projects by reporting on key project metrics.
- Act as our historian: help us keep our internal documentation up to date with an accurate picture of what has happened and what’s to come.
Requirements:
- You have been a Project Manager in the software industry.
- You have a deep understanding of the entire lifecycle of engineering and web development projects.
- You are experienced at helping teams estimate their work, plan for the future, demonstrate success, and communicate timely updates.
- You have helped multiple teams optimize and adapt their development process to succeed for different personalities and needs.
- You have a passion for learning and self-improvement.
- You care deeply about maintaining a sustainable software development process where Product, Design, Engineering, and you collaborate.
- You love team building and facilitation, including leading meetings, and problem resolution/mediation.
- You have led projects involving technical operations and new software product/service development.
- You know how to effectively work with remote team members and business partners.
- Ask smart questions, take risks and champion new ideas.
